CUT LIKE WOUND
Description
It is the holy month of Ramzan. At Shivaji Nagar in the heart of Bangalore, a young male prostitute is brutally killed. And he is not the only one. Soon, the bodies begin to pile up. Enter Inspector Borei Gowda, the investigating officer, once the sharpest cop in the city, now on the wrong side of forty and more interested in his Old Monk and beloved Bullet than moving police files. Gowda recognizes the pattern in the serial killings, but he knows he must fight apathy and ridicule at every turn, as well as his own temperament, if he is to find the killer before the next body turns up. Steeped in the sights and smells of Bangalore, Cut Like Wound takes place over a period of thirty-eight days, starting with the first day of Ramzan and ending on St Mary's Day. With a galaxy of unforgettable characters - Gowda's assistant, Subinspector Santosh, Corporator Ravikumar, his brother Chikka, his henchman King Kong, the eunuch Akka - this is a racy psychological thriller unlike any in Indian fiction.
